Newer to town, this mom and pop cucina has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Enjoy a glass of that wine you brought and some heart warming Italian cooking prepared with love.

Night Cap: There are hotel lobby bars, and then there is the fabulous speakeasy at The Oliver. This equal parts cozy and swanky cocktail bar is named after an unpublished William Faulkner manuscript, and really captures the new wave of Oxford style.

This mother-daughter owned and operated roastery isn’t just serving up delicious coffee, they source all of their coffee beans from woman-owned farms, and actively donate to charities and nonprofits that support women. There’s only one way you should start a trip to Oxford, visiting William Faulkner’s grave. We know it’s early, but it’s a tradition to take a shot or a swig of whiskey—Four Roses was Faulkner’s favorite—when you stop by. We’ll leave that up to your discretion.
Lunch: A trip to Oxford isn’t complete without lunch at this iconic diner. Everyone, and we mean everyone, passes through at least once. Enjoy the meal, maybe sop up that morning shot of whiskey, and enjoy this classic Mississippi spot where even the ceiling has stories to tell.

Since you’re already on The Square, now would be a perfect time to head to Square Books. This three-story tall bookstore has been calling your name since before you even arrived in Oxford. Take your time, enjoy. Once you’re done wandering the endless shelves at Square Books, or their sister store Rare Square Books. After that, head over to End of All Music to check out their collection of vinyl records.
Happy Hour: The best view in town is waiting for you. Take the elevator up at The Graduate to the rooftop bar, and enjoy a sunset over Oxford. This is a great spot to chat with regular Oxford visitors, and get some tips of what else to see that may not be on this itinerary.

Dinner: Let’s keep dinner close by, you’re only a short stroll from one of the hottest restaurants in town. This local favorite is elevating what Southern cuisine is capable of achieving, while remaining true to the classics and is owned by James Beard award-winning chef, John Currence.

Night Cap: You up for a bit of fun? Hop onto Instagram and follow Secret Grilled Cheese, there you’ll find the password you need. Now, head down the alcove titled “Faulkner’s Alley” until you see a loose jawed skull. You’ll know what to do when you see it. Pro Tip: There are no jeans or T-shirts allowed, so be sure to dress up a bit.
Local Secret
In case you need another bite to eat before hitting the hay, the locals’ move is to swing by 4-Corners Chevron gas station and grab a Mississippi favorite…Chicken on a Stick. Trust us, the locals aren’t wrong with this one.
Breakfast: There’s nothing better than starting the day off with a big breakfast that doesn’t shy away from flavor. Here you’ll find more than a Grand Slam, you’ll find breakfast bowls inspired by Mexican and Cajun cuisine, and all your favorite Southern breakfast options. Come hungry.

A walk or bike around Ole Miss’s Campus is a great way to get to know Oxford. This is the heart and soul of the town, and it’s full of history. The Lyceum, Champion Tree, and obviously the Grove are must-visit spots.
Lunch: While true Cajun country is a bit south of Oxford, the cuisine’s presence still holds sway over the hearts of many Mississippians. Swing through this woodclad spot to enjoy some of the tried-and-true classics.
