The Harlem Legends are a valuable component of the MDYF. They are a group of professional athletes, former players from the Harlem Globetrotters, NBA, NFL, past USA Olympians, and other professionals. These legends help carry out the mission of the foundation. Some of the Legends include, Michael Douglas, Tyrone “Hollywood” Brown, Larry “Shorty” Coleman, Don Douglas, Robert Wallace, Elbert “Tree” Gordon, Andre Turner, Curtis Green, McKinley Singleton announcer Mike Glenn, and referee Jimmy Bolden.
The MDYF and The Harem Legends has been chosen as an advocate for the President’s Fitness Challenge. http://www.presidentschallenge.org/ The Harlem Legends will take the lead in living a healthy lifestyle by being positive role models for our youth and society.
We have teamed up with Coach John Sherman of Lafayette High School Basketball Program, and Clint Jordan, Asst. Principal Lafayette Middle School. We will bring our Harlem Legends Hoops & Health Celebrity Basketball Show with the Harlem Legends vs The Oxford Lafayette All Stars to Lafayette High School, Oxford MS August 27, 2015, Showtime 6:00pm.
This will be a great event for the entire community.
