Charlie Buckley will exhibit new paintings at Southside Gallery in April. The paintings will be on display April 2 – April 28.  An artist’s reception is scheduled for Thursday, April 25, 5 – 8 PM.

Over 20 paintings will be on display in the exhibition, Buckley’s first at Southside since 2017.  Buckley is known for his vibrant landscapes depicting rural Mississippi.  The landscapes are not straightforward representational paintings; instead, many incorporate symbolism, musing on human relationships and interactions, especially architecturally, with the environment.  Many of Buckley’s newer landscapes feature, in the artist’s words, “aerial views of reflective floodwaters.”
