On Saturday, January 26th at 6:00 PM the 4th annual Thacker Jr. program will take place in Nutt Auditorium. Thacker Jr. is now co-produced by Thacker Mountain Radio Hour and the University of Mississippi’s Living Music Resource™. The show is part of Pop Up Oxford 2019 and FREE to the public. On Saturday from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, it will be live streamed on livingmusicresource.com, and on Tuesday, Jan 29th from 6:00 – 7:00 PM it will be broadcast on 92.1 WUMS Rebel Radio. Thacker Jr. will feature Lafayette County children as hosts of the program, in the house band, and as musical guests. The literary guest will be Gloria J. Burgess and also include special guest Mayor Robyn Tannehill. Ms. Burgess will speak on her book, Pass It On!, a story about William Faulkner paying for her father’s education at the University of Mississippi and the legacy of Faulkner’s kindness. Mayor Tannehill will speak on her programs for the children in the LOU community such as her Mayor for the Day and Girls EmPOWERment programs.”
