Spend the holidays in Oxford, MS! In this small town, there are many holiday events to be celebrated through the month of December. As the temperatures begin to drop and the trees begin to glisten, this homey, college town becomes a little like Santa’s workshop in the North Pole. Several family-friendly events and shows are presented locally in hopes that many will attend.
2020 Oxford Holiday Events:
Square Alliance Holiday Open House
When: Friday, November 27 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Where: The Square
What: Santa will be walking around the Square (no formal pictures), Oxford Square Alliance Sleigh will be outside city hall for photos, Stores will be having sales! Check their social pages for deals. Civic chorus will perform at 5:30 p.m. on the plaza at City Hall.
Elf Scavenger Hunt
When: Tuesday, December 1 – Wednesday, December 30
Where: Various Downtown Square Businesses
What: Help Visit Oxford find their elves! 12 elves are scattered between different businesses in the historic downtown Square. Pick up a card at Visit Oxford to participate & return your card once you’ve found them all to be entered in a prize drawing on the 30th. You do not need to be present to win. The drawing will be at 3:30 p.m on the 30th.
Holiday Village at The Ford Center
When: Thursday, December 3 – Thursday, December 17
Where: The Ford Center for Performing Arts
What: Featured are the Gingerbread Houses, Ceramic Winter Village with a working train, and our North Pole Mailbox direct to Santa! Another special feature is a LEGO Gingerbread House built by the Ford Center staff. Operating hours can be found here.

Gingerbread House Contest at Graduate Oxford
When: Tuesday, December 8 – Sunday, December 13
Where: Graduate Oxford Hotel
What: Submit your design by Nov. 30th at this link. The houses will be on display the 8th – 13th and the winner will be selected on the 15th! Visit Oxford is helping judge.
