Music is woven into the fabric of Oxford's culture, and it's rare to find a day - aside from Sunday - when live perormances aren't happening on or around the Square.
Whether it’s a local favorite, a touring band, or an artist in residence recording at the famed Fat Possum Records, the eclectic sounds of Oxford’s music scene are sure to draw you in.
Double Decker Festival
Each spring, on the last weekend in April, Oxford’s downtown Square transforms into a vibrant hub for the Double Decker Arts Festival. The Square is closed down for the two-day celebration, which features free live music on the main stage, located on North Lamar. Past performers have included Flatland Calvary, Maggie Rose, Ashley McBryde, and Marcus King.

The Lyric Theatre
Located just off the Square, The Lyric originally opened in 1913 as a silent movie theatre. Today, it stands as one of Oxford's premier venues for live music and events, drawing audiences from across the Southeast.

Mississippi Blues Trail
Mississippi is home to numerous markers commemorating the birthplace of America's music, specifically, the blues. If you're following the Mississippi Blues Trail, be sure to stop in Oxford, which features two official markers - one recognizing Oxford Blues and the other highlighting the University of Mississippi's Living Blues magazine.

The End of All Music Record Store
The End of All Music is an independent record store tucked upstairs in the historic Duvall's building, right on the Oxford Square. Since opening in 2012, it has become a haven for music enthusiasts as they carry an extensive selection of new and used vinyl that spans genres. has everything for the vinyl enthusiast.
Proud Larry’s
Just steps south of the Lafayette County Courthouse on the Square, Proud Larry’s serves great food by day and transforms into one of Oxford's most beloved live music venues by night. With multiple shows each week spanning a variety of genres, it's a cornerstone of the local music scene - welcoming everyone from casual listeners to die-hard music fans.
