SouthTalks: Southern Studies Alumni Spotlight: David Bittler

Overview

The Center for the Study of Southern Culture is hosting an “Alumni Spotlight” featuring Southern Studies MA alum David Bittler. Bittler will be in conversation with Center director, Katie McKee. They will discuss how Bittler’s Southern Studies degree has advanced his career. Bittler is Paramount Picture’s former executive vice president of communications, a post he held for twenty-five years, during which he led multiplatform campaigns across theatricals, streaming, linear television, consumer products, and live experiences. After earning his MA in Southern Studies in 1994, Bittler began his career at CNN in Atlanta, where he rose to serve as the network’s global breaking-news spokesperson.
